What Is It

Upgrade your Probationary Driving License (PDL) to a Competent Driving License (CDL) within one year after the PDL expires.

Who Is Eligible

  • Must apply within 1 year after the 2-year PDL expires.
  • Application can be done starting 7 days before PDL expiry.
  • Applicant must not be blacklisted by JPJ or PDRM.
  • Required Documents

  • MyKad: Original.
  • PDL: Original physical copy.
  • Passport-sized photo: Optional (JPN database photo is normally used).
  • Step-by-Step Procedure

    Method 1: Online via MyJPJ

    1. Download MyJPJ app: Available on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. 2. Log in: Using your MyKad details. 3. Navigate to 'Permohonan CDL': Select the option to upgrade your PDL to CDL. 4. Select renewal period: Choose between 1-5 years. 5. Pay fee online: Using online payment methods. 6. View digital CDL: In your MyJPJ profile.

    Method 2: Physical Counter

    1. Visit JPJ State/Branch, UTC, 1JPJ counter, or Pos Malaysia: Choose the nearest location. 2. Bring required documents: Original MyKad, original physical PDL, and passport-sized photo (optional). 3. Pay fee: Standard CDL renewal fee of RM30 per year.
