# TEKUN Nasional Micro-Financing

What Is It

TEKUN Nasional is a government agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) that provides fast and simple micro-financing facilities to Bumiputera and Indian entrepreneurs to start or expand micro-businesses.

Who Is Eligible

  • Malaysian citizen Bumiputera or of Indian descent.
  • Aged between 18 and 65 at the time of application.
  • Holds a valid business registration (SSM) or local authority permit (for businesses operating longer than 6 months).
  • The applicant must be directly involved in the business operations.
  • Required Documents

  • Copy of MyKad (applicant and spouse).
  • Copy of SSM registration certificate or local authority license.
  • Copy of latest utility bills (address verification).
  • 2 passport-sized photos.
  • Bank statement showing account number and name.
  • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Visit TEKUN Office: Go to the nearest TEKUN branch office or download application forms from the TEKUN portal. 2. Select Loan Scheme: Choose a suitable scheme (e.g. Skim Pembiayaan TEKUN Niaga, Skim Pembiayaan SPUMI for Indians). 3. Submit Application: Submit the completed forms and documents to the TEKUN officer. 4. Site Visit: A TEKUN representative will visit the business premises to verify operations. 5. Loan Approval: Sign the loan offer letter. 6. Attend Briefing: Attend a mandatory brief business management briefing before funds are released. 7. Disbursement: The funds are credited to the borrower's bank account.

  • Cost: Free application. Administration service charge is flat at 4% per year. Financing ranges from RM1,000 to RM100,000.
