What Is It

Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) 2025 is a targeted cashless aid program initiated by the Malaysian government. Its primary objective is to assist vulnerable groups in managing their cost of living. The aid is provided as cashless credit loaded directly onto the recipient's MyKad and can be utilized to purchase essential items such as food, hygiene products, school supplies, and medicines at registered supermarkets and retail outlets operating under the MyKasih system.

Who Is Eligible

Eligibility for SARA 2025 is automatic and does not require a separate application. Eligible recipients include:
  • STR 2025 recipients who are registered under the eKasih system, classified as poor or hardcore poor.
  • Expanded to include household and single senior citizens who are STR recipients, starting from April 2025.

    Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Receiving Aid: Cashless credit is automatically loaded onto the recipient's MyKad. 2. Using Aid: 1. Visit registered supermarkets and retail outlets that accept the MyKasih system. 2. Select essential items (food, hygiene products, school supplies, medicines) allowed under the program. 3. Proceed to the cashier and use your MyKad for payment. The SARA credit will be automatically deducted.

    Cost & Processing Time

    There is no application cost for SARA 2025. As eligibility is automatic for targeted recipients, there is no processing time for applications. The aid is automatically disbursed to eligible individuals.

    Important Notes

  • Validity: Any unused balance will roll over to the next month but will expire completely on 31 December 2025.
  • Status Check: Recipients can check their SARA status and balance online through sara.gov.my or the MyKasih portal.
