What Is It
The Business Accelerator Programme (BAP) is an integrated financial assistance scheme managed by SME Corporation Malaysia. It offers matching grants and soft loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to support capacity building, technology adoption, product packaging upgrades, and machinery acquisition.
Who Is Eligible
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) incorporated in Malaysia.
Minimum 60% Malaysian equity shareholding.
Holds a valid business license from local authorities (PBT).
Business must be active and operating for at least 12 months.
Registered with SME Corp under the SME Status Certificate.
Required Documents
Copy of SSM registration profile and local authority business license.
Latest 3 years' audited financial statements (for Sdn Bhd) or latest 2 years' management accounts/tax returns.
Latest 6 months' bank statements.
Cost quotations for proposed equipment, machinery, or software upgrades.

Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Apply SME Status: Register on the SME Corp portal and apply for the SME Status Certificate.
2. Check Scheme Intake: Browse current active BAP grant cycles on the SME Corp website.
3. Submit Proposal: Fill out the online application form, detail the project objectives (e.g. buying a packaging machine), and upload cost quotations.
4. Technical Audit: SME Corp officers conduct a site visit or technical review.
5. Approval Panel: The evaluation committee reviews the application and issues an offer letter.
6. Implementation & Claim: The SME purchases the equipment, submits proof of payment (receipts), and claims the matching grant reimbursement (usually 50% of the cost).

Cost: Free application. BAP grants are provided as matching grants (up to RM50,000 to RM400,000 depending on the specific budget allocation).
Processing Time: 2 to 3 months for evaluation, site audits, and approval notifications.
