What Is It
The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is a wildlife sanctuary managed by the Sabah Wildlife Department. It is dedicated to rehabilitating orphaned and injured orangutans back into the wild. The center offers visitors the opportunity to observe orangutans in their natural habitat from designated boardwalk zones.

Original MyKad (for Malaysians) or Passport (for international visitors).
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Arrive at Centre: Visit the ticketing counter at the Sepilok Centre in Sandakan, Sabah (Operating hours: 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily).
2. Purchase Tickets: Present your ID and purchase your entry tickets.
3. Pay Camera Fee: Declare any professional cameras or video recorders and purchase the mandatory permit. (Smartphones are exempt).
4. Store Personal Bags: Store all backpacks, purses, and water bottles in the provided secure lockers (to prevent wild orangutans or macaques from snatching them).
5. Feeding Platform Walk: Walk along the wooden boardwalks to Platform A for the scheduled feeding times (10:00 AM and 3:00 PM daily).
6. Visit Outdoor Nursery: Walk to the climate-controlled indoor nursery viewer to watch juvenile orangutans playing and training.

- Malaysian Citizens: RM5.00 (Adult), RM2.00 (Child).
- Non-Malaysian Citizens: RM30.00 (Adult), RM15.00 (Child).
- Professional Camera Permit Fee: RM10.00 per device.
