What Is It

The Sarawak Single Mother Assistance Scheme is a state-sponsored program providing financial safety nets, entrepreneurial launching grants, and vocational training options to empower registered single mothers in Sarawak.

Who Is Eligible

  • Malaysian citizen residing in Sarawak (MyKad displays 'K' indicator).
  • Registered single mother with the Sarawak Welfare Department (JKMS) or recognized Single Mothers Associations (e.g., PITSA).
  • Household income falls below the state Poverty Line Index (PLI).

    • Required Documents

  • Copy of MyKad.
  • Copy of Divorce Certificate, Death Certificate of spouse, or court order documents.
  • Copies of children's birth certificates or MyKid/MyKad.
  • LHDN tax form, salary slips, or declaration of no income.

    • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Access Portal: Visit the official i-SarawakCare portal online. 2. Apply Online: Select the welfare aid option for single mothers and fill in the required fields. 3. Submit Geran Pelancaran: If starting a micro-business, apply for the Launching Grant option (up to RM5,000). 4. Welfare Office Check: Divisional Social Welfare Officers will review the application and conduct interviews if necessary. 5. Receive Grants: Livelihood allowances and business grants are credited directly to the bank account.
