What Is It

This procedure allows Malaysian citizens and eligible residents to replace their lost or damaged physical Competent Driving License (CDL).

Who Is Eligible

All holders of a valid Competent Driving License (CDL).

Required Documents

  • MyKad: Original National Registration Identity Card (for Malaysian citizens).
  • Passport: For foreign expatriates (if applicable).
  • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Visit JPJ Office: Go to any JPJ State or Branch office, or a UTC (Urban Transformation Centre) with JPJ services. 2. Inform Officer: Inform the JPJ officer that you need to replace a lost or damaged driving license. 3. Present Identification: Present your MyKad (or Passport). 4. Pay Fee: Pay the replacement fee of RM20.

  • Important Notes

  • A police report is not mandatory for the JPJ replacement process, but it is highly recommended to safeguard against potential identity theft.
  • If both your MyKad and driving license are lost, you must replace your MyKad at the Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN) first before proceeding with the driving license replacement at JPJ.
  • Passport-sized photographs are usually not required as the system often pulls information from the JPN database.
