# Public University Admission (UPUOnline)
What Is It
UPUOnline is the centralized electronic application system managed by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) for admissions into Malaysia's 20 Public Universities (UA), Polytechnics, Community Colleges, and Public Skills Training Institutes (ILKA).
Who Is Eligible
Malaysian citizens holding qualifications such as SPM, STPM, Matriculation, Asasi (Foundation), STAM, or recognized Diplomas.
Must meet the general university entry requirements and specific course criteria (syarat khas).
Required Documents
MyKad copy.
SPM/STPM/STAM examination slip or transcript.
Matriculation/Diploma academic transcripts.
MUET (Malaysian University English Test) result slip.
Co-curricular activity marks (PAJSK).
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Purchase UPU Pin: Buy a unique UPU PIN number at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) counters, ATM, or via BSN internet banking.
2. Access Portal: Log in to the official UPUOnline portal during the application phase.
3. Register Profile: Input personal details, academic results, and co-curricular scores.
4. Select Programs: Choose and rank up to 12 course preferences based on eligibility (using the portal's system match tool).
5. Submit & Print: Save and submit the application. Print the submission slip.
6. Check Results: Log in during the selection window (usually July/August) to check offers and accept them online.
Cost & Processing Time
Cost: BSN UPU PIN fee (around RM10 to RM15 depending on category).
Processing Time: Bids and processing take 3 to 5 months. The system runs in 2 phases annually.
