What Is It
The KPP02 (Circuit Training) and KPP03 (Road Training) are the practical learning modules and subsequent JPJ practical tests required to obtain a Probationary Driving License (PDL - Class D/DA for cars, Class B2/B for motorcycles) in Malaysia.
Who Is Eligible
Individuals who hold a valid Learner's Driving License (LDL).
Completed the minimum mandatory hours of practical training at a registered driving institute.
Required Documents
Learner's Driving License (LDL): Original and valid.
JPJ L3 Form: Student training record card signed by the instructor.
MyKad: Copy of the candidate's identity card.
Test Appointment Slip: Issued by the driving institute.
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Complete KPP02 (Circuit): Undergo 5.5 hours of circuit training covering hill climb, parallel parking, 'three-point turn', and 'S' & 'Z' curve driving.
2. Complete KPP03 (Road): Undergo 10 hours of on-road training with a certified driving instructor.
3. Pre-Test (QTI): Sit for the Qualifying Test (QTI) conducted by the driving school's internal assessors. If you pass, they book your JPJ test.
4. JPJ Practical Test: Attend the official test day. The JPJ tester evaluates:
- Part I (Routine Pemeriksaan Kenderaan - RPK & RSM): Engine and safety checks.
- Part II (Circuit): Hill climb, parking, and maneuvers.
- Part III (Road): On-road driving compliance with traffic rules.
5. Obtain PDL: If you pass all sections, pay the licensing fee at a JPJ counter or via MyJPJ to get your Probationary Driving License (PDL).
Cost & Processing Time
Cost: Included in the driving school package (ranging from RM1,200 to RM2,200 total depending on class and school). JPJ test registration fee is RM20.
Processing Time: The test takes 1 day. If you pass, the PDL is generated and issued within 1 to 3 working days.

Registered Driving Institutes (Institut Memandu): Authorized JPJ-panel driving schools across Malaysia.
Important Notes
If you fail any part of the test (Part I, II, or III), you only need to re-register and re-take the failed part. A minimum waiting period of 1 week applies before retesting.
The LDL must remain valid throughout the training and test period.
