What Is It

A Certified True Copy (CTC) of a police report is a verified copy of the original report, required for insurance claims, court cases, and official verification.

Who Is Eligible

The person who lodged the report, their close family (with authorization), or their legally appointed lawyer can obtain a CTC copy.

Required Documents

  • Original police report receipt: the receipt issued when the report was lodged (if available)
  • MyKad/Passport: identification document

    • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Visit the police station: visit the Balai Polis where the report was made, or the District Police Headquarters (IPD) 2. Present documents: present the original police report receipt (if available) and your MyKad/Passport 3. Request certification: request the administration/records department (Bahagian Pentadbiran/Rekod) to retrieve and certify a copy 4. Pay and collect: pay the RM2 to RM5 fee and collect the stamped Certified True Copy (CTC) immediately

    Cost & Processing Time

    The fee for a CTC copy is RM2 to RM5 per certified copy. The processing time is immediate.

    Where to Apply

    The CTC copy can be requested at the original police station where it was lodged or the headquarters of that district.

    Only the authorized person can obtain a CTC copy, and the fee is RM2 to RM5 per certified copy.
