What Is It

The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) provides dialysis treatment subsidy to support patients with end-stage kidney disease.

Who Is Eligible

Eligible patients must be Malaysian citizens, aged 18 and above, ambulant, have functional vascular access, and have no other dialysis alternatives. They must also pass the NKF financial means test with a gross per capita household income below RM2,300/month.

  • Completed application form: provided by the NKF Dialysis Centre
  • Medical summary report: from the patient's doctor
  • MyKad copies: for patient and family members
  • Family income verification: to verify the patient's household income
  • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Contact NKF Dialysis Centre: contact the nearest NKF Dialysis Centre or Welfare Department to inquire about the subsidy 2. Submit application: submit the completed application form, medical summary report, MyKad copies, and family income verification 3. Evaluation interview/home visit: a Welfare Officer will conduct an evaluation interview and/or home visit

    Cost & Processing Time

    The NKF charges a subsidized fee of RM90 per haemodialysis session. With the KKM dialysis subsidy of RM100 per treatment session, the treatment is free (costs RM0 to the patient) once the subsidy is approved.
