# MySalam National Health Protection Scheme
What Is It
MySalam is a free national health protection insurance scheme established by the Malaysian Government in collaboration with Great Eastern Takaful. It provides low-income B40 and M40 individuals with free insurance coverage against 45 critical illnesses and hospitalization cash allowances.
Who Is Eligible
Malaysian citizens aged between 18 and 65.
STR (Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah) cash aid recipients and their registered spouses.
Classified under the B40 or M40 income bracket.
Required Documents
For Critical Illness Claim: Clinical diagnosis report signed by a government hospital doctor.
For Hospitalization Claim: Hospital discharge summary showing admission dates, and MyKad copy.
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Verify Eligibility: Check your mySalam registration status online using your MyKad number.
2. Submit Claim Online: Log in to the mySalam portal.
3. Select Claim Type:
- Critical Illness Claim: Upload the clinical diagnosis report for one of the 45 listed critical illnesses.
- Hospitalization Claim: Upload the discharge summary from any government hospital (or approved military hospital).
4. Review Status: Claim assessments are processed by Great Eastern Takaful.
5. Credit Transfer: Approved payouts are transferred directly to your bank account registered under the STR system.
Cost & Processing Time
Cost: Free of charge (premium is fully paid by the government).
Payout Benefits:
- Critical Illness: One-off payment of RM8,000 (for B40) or RM4,000 (for M40).
- Hospitalization: RM50 per day allowance up to 14 days per year (max RM700).
Processing Time: Claims are reviewed and approved within 14 working days.
