# Mental Health Consultation at Government Clinics

What Is It

The Ministry of Health (KKM) offers mental health support services under the Minda Sihat program at government health clinics (Klinik Kesihatan). Patients can undergo stress, anxiety, and depression screenings, receive counseling, or get referred to hospital psychiatric departments for RM1.

Who Is Eligible

  • All Malaysian citizens suffering from emotional distress, anxiety, depression, or seeking psychiatric help.

    • Required Documents

  • Original MyKad.
  • Completed DASS (Depression Anxiety Stress Scales) self-evaluation form (usually filled at the clinic).

    • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Book Appointment: Access MySejahtera, go to 'Janji Temu Kesihatan', and select 'Saringan Kesihatan Mental' or visit a clinic directly. 2. DASS Screening: Complete the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS) questionnaire at the clinic registration desk. 3. Pay Outpatient Fee: Pay the RM1 registration fee at the counter. 4. Consultation: Meet the medical officer to discuss your screening results. 5. Counseling Sessions: If the results show mild to moderate stress/anxiety, you will be scheduled for regular counseling sessions with the clinic's occupational therapist or counselor. 6. Specialist Referral: If the results show severe symptoms, the doctor will issue a referral letter to a specialist psychiatrist at a government hospital.

  • Cost: RM1.00 flat registration fee. Referral to hospital specialists is also subsidized.
  • Processing Time: DASS screening takes 10 minutes. Doctor consultations take 1 to 2 hours.
