# KPM Matriculation Programme Admission

What Is It

The Ministry of Education (KPM) Matriculation Programme is a highly sought-after 1 or 2-year pre-university preparatory course designed to prepare SPM school leavers for degree programs in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM), and Accounting at local public and private universities.

Who Is Eligible

  • Malaysian citizen.
  • Completed SPM with excellent results (specific grade requirements apply, such as at least a C in Mathematics, Science, and English).
  • Aged below 20 at the time of application.
  • Required Documents

  • Copy of MyKad.
  • SPM Result Slip (original scan).
  • Secondary school co-curricular activity certificate.
  • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Access Portal: Visit the KPM Matriculation Division online application system. 2. Log In: Register using your MyKad and SPM index number (Angka Giliran). 3. Choose Stream: Select your preferred stream: Science (Sains), Engineering (Kejuruteraan), Accounting (Perakaunan), or Professional Accounting (JPPro). 4. Submit Co-curricular details: Input co-curricular records and school leadership positions. 5. Verify and Submit: Review all entries and submit. 6. Offer Check: Check results online once SPM results are announced. Print the offer and registration letter if successful.

  • Cost: Free application. Tuition is fully subsidized by the government; students only pay registration/lodging fees (around RM200 to RM450 depending on the college).
  • Processing Time: Applications are processed over 2 months following the announcement of SPM results.

  • Important Notes

  • Government matriculation students receive a modest cost-of-living allowance (elaun saku) from the government every semester.
