What Is It
The JPA Special Programme for Japan, Korea, France, and Germany (JKPJ) provides full scholarships for top SPM scorers to undertake pre‑university preparatory courses and/or undergraduate degree studies abroad in the listed countries.
Who Is Eligible
Malaysian citizen
Age: below 19 years at the time of application
Academic Excellence: minimum 7A+ (or 8A/A+) in relevant subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) in the SPM examination
Must successfully pass the JPA Student Assessment Centre (SAC) selection camp
Required Documents
MyKad: proof of citizenship and identity
SPM Result Slip: official result indicating required grades
SPM Transcript: detailed subject grades
Passport (valid for at least 2 years): for overseas travel
Letter of Acceptance (if already secured): from the overseas institution
SAC Assessment Result: confirmation of selection
Personal Statement/Essay: describing study goals and career plans
Two Referee Letters: from teachers or school administrators
Step-by-Step Procedure
1. Online Application: Submit the application through the eSila portal (esilav2.jpa.gov.my) immediately after SPM results are released.
2. Document Upload: Upload all required documents listed above to the eSila system.
3. SAC Selection Camp: Attend the JPA Student Assessment Centre (SAC) for interviews, aptitude tests and group activities.
4. Selection Notification: Receive the selection outcome via email/SMS from JPA.
5. Mandatory Local Preparatory Programme: Enrol in an approved 1‑ to 2‑year local preparatory course (e.g., INTEC, AAJ) if selected for a pre‑university pathway.
6. Visa & Travel Arrangements: Apply for a student visa and arrange travel once the preparatory programme is completed.
7. Departure: Commence studies abroad under the scholarship agreement.
Cost & Processing Time
Scholarship Coverage: Tuition fees, living allowance, airfare, health insurance, and other study‑related expenses are fully covered.
Processing Time: Approximately 3‑4 months from online application to final selection, depending on SAC schedule.

Important Notes
The scholarship is non‑transferable and subject to compliance with JPA terms and conditions.
