What Is It

Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) is Malaysia's national sewerage utility company. It manages the operation and maintenance of public sewerage systems and offers septic tank desludging (emptying) services for premises not connected to the main public sewer grid.

Who Is Eligible

Property owners and occupiers (residential and commercial) across Malaysia (excluding Kelantan, Johor Bahru City Council, Pasir Gudang, and selected municipal zones managed by local councils).

Required Documents

Copy of MyKad.

Property assessment bill (cukai pintu) or previous water bill (for account setup).

Proof of tenancy (if billing is to be sent to tenant).

Step-by-Step Procedure

1. Access eServices: Log in to the IWK eServices web portal or install the IWK mobile app. 2. Register Account: Sign up using your MyKad. Enter your IWK account number (found on paper bills or retrieved using your property details). 3. Verify Bills: View current sewerage rates (residential is charged a low flat rate, e.g. RM8.00 per month). 4. Pay Online: Make bill payments online via JomPAY, online banking, or the IWK app. 5. Request Desludging: For properties with individual septic tanks, schedule a desludging service online. IWK tankers will visit to pump out the wastewater.

Cost & Processing Time

Cost:

- Residential connected sewerage: Flat fee of RM8.00 per month. - Individual septic tank sewerage: Flat fee of RM6.00 per month. - Desludging request: Standard service is included/subsidized under billing; additional visits or emergency requests incur fees from RM150.00.

Processing Time: Desludging appointments are executed within 3 to 7 working days.

Important Notes
