What Is It

FLYsiswa is a government financial aid initiative under the Ministry of Transport (MOT) offering a RM300 voucher (digital credit) for domestic flight tickets. It aims to reduce the travel cost burden on students from East Malaysia or Peninsular Malaysia studying across regions.

Who Is Eligible

  • Malaysian citizens currently enrolled as full-time students in public universities (IPTA), polytechnics, community colleges, or teacher education institutes (IPG).
  • The student must be travelling between their origin and study location across the South China Sea:
    • - Origin in Sabah/Sarawak/Labuan and studying in Peninsular Malaysia (or vice versa). - Origin in Sabah and studying in Sarawak/Labuan (or vice versa).
  • The student's academic status must be active during the application window.

    • Voucher Value & Airlines

  • Value: RM300 one-time digital credit per student.
  • Airlines Covered: Malaysia Airlines, MASwings, Firefly, AirAsia, Batik Air, and MYAirline (where active).

    • Required Documents / Information

  • Student Card / Matric Number: Copy of student ID.
  • MyKad: To verify origin and citizenship.
  • Active Email & Mobile Number: For verification and voucher delivery.

    • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Check Eligibility: Visit the FLYsiswa portal (flysiswa.mot.gov.my) to check if your name is registered in the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) database. 2. Submit Appeal: If you are eligible but your name is missing, submit an appeal directly through your university's student affairs division (HEP). 3. Choose Airline: Select the airline you wish to redeem the credit with. You can only choose one (1) airline to issue your voucher. 4. Redeem Credit: Use the RM300 credit code at the checkout page of the airline's website or mobile app when booking your flight.

  • Cost: Free.
  • Processing Time: Eligibility check is instant online. Vouchers are issued and sent to your email within 24 to 48 hours after airline selection.

    • Important Notes

  • The RM300 voucher is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and is valid only for domestic flights in the student's name.
  • If the flight price is less than RM300, the remaining credit balance will stay in your voucher account for future bookings (subject to airline terms).
