What Is It

Apply for Classic or Vintage vehicle status with JPJ to receive road tax (LKM) discounts. Classic vehicles get an 80% discount, while Vintage vehicles get a 90% discount.

Who Is Eligible

  • Vehicle type: Motorcars only (motos and vans are excluded).
  • Age: Classic must be at least 25 years old from manufacture; Vintage must be at least 50 years old.
  • Condition: Must be in showroom condition (original components, mint condition, roadworthy, no major modifications except minor safety updates).
  • Ownership: Applicant must be a Malaysian citizen and own at least 2 other active vehicles (excluding motorcycles) registered under their name.

  • VOC copy: Vehicle ownership certificate.
  • IC copy: Copy of the applicant's identification card.
  • Proof of owning 2 other active vehicles: Documents proving ownership of at least 2 other active vehicles.
  • Detailed vehicle photographs: Exterior, interior, engine bay, and chassis number photographs.
