# Autogate Access for Foreigners at KLIA

What Is It

The Autogate Access facility is an immigration fast-clearance system allowing eligible foreign visitors to clear passport control using automated gates (e-gates) at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA Terminal 1 & 2), bypassing manual officer counters.

Who Is Eligible

  • Citizens of selected low-risk countries (including Australia, Brunei, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, USA, UK, and China).
  • Holds a biometric/e-passport compliant with ICAO regulations.
  • Must submit the MDAC digital card within 3 days prior to arrival.
  • Required Documents

  • Biometric/e-passport.
  • MDAC submission confirmation receipt.
  • Step-by-Step Procedure

    1. Submit MDAC: Complete the online Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) form within 3 days of your flight to KLIA. 2. First Time Registration: - On your first arrival at KLIA, go to the manual immigration counter marked 'Autogate Registration'. - The officer will verify your passport and register your biometric fingerprint and facial data in the database. 3. Use Autogate (Subsequent Clearance): - For departure and subsequent visits, walk directly to the Autogate barriers. - Insert your passport into the reader. - Stand on the foot markers to face the camera for facial recognition, and place your thumb on the fingerprint scanner. - The gate opens once biometric matches are verified.

    Cost & Processing Time

  • Cost: Free of charge.
  • Processing Time: Clearing the autogate takes less than 30 seconds per traveler.
  • Where to Apply

  • Location: Immigration Arrivals Hall, KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
  • Important Notes

  • Ensure you complete the MDAC registration before flying, as the autogate registry system checks MDAC status databases in real-time. If MDAC is missing, the gate will reject your passport.
